Limburg an der Lahn is a town in western Germany. It’s known for the striking, painted Limburg Cathedral, with its tall spires. Among the medieval half-timbered houses in the old town is the Haus der sieben Laster, with carvings representing the 7 deadly sins. The Alte Lahnbrücke, across the Lahn River, is a 14th-century bridge with a fortified tower.
We were lucky enough to get there and listen to the church bells - really lovely. The cathedral's high location on a rock above the river Lahn provides its visibility from from far away. It is the result of an Early Gothic modernization of an originally Early Romanesque building and therefore shows a Romanesque-Gothic transitional style.
It was a lovely day in Limburg......even the ducks were having a great time!
