Pam left Don home for this one and joined the Wiesbaden Spouse's Club for a trip to Boleslawiec, Poland for some shopping. Can these ladies shop! We visited about 12 pottery shops in 2 days. Yes, I got a couple dishes. Polish pottery is very high quality sturdy and usable in the oven, microwave and dishwasher. In the studio of several of the stores, the artists were painting the items by hand. It was incredible to watch. This is my pattern:

And some of the other pottery and the shops:

We also visited a glass studio and were able to watch the glass blowers in the back. The bat was a huge hit.

And finally we visited the Elim Mission in Poland that serves the surrounding communities with their needs free of charge. One way to raise funds to serve the people is through the Nativity Project. Individuals from the mission, those that travel through and others donate their time to create a handcrafted nativity set that is sold to raise money. Here are some samples of the beautiful work.
